We Rocked Beyond Belief!

Today at Fort Bragg, Rock Beyond Belief was a lot of fun.  There were at least a few hundred people there.  It was great getting to attend such a gathering and witness talks by some great non-believers, religious freedom advocates, and military supporters. Nathan Phelps, son of Fred Phelps of “God Hates Fags” fame, broke away from his hateful family at 18. He was particularly inspiring. I also had the pleasure of meeting Hemant Mehta, Roy Zimmerman and the charming Margaret Downey. I unfortunately missed Richard Dawkins and Sean Faircloth, but I hear they did a great job.

Huge thanks to Justin Griffith for doing this. It took a ton of work to fight for this event.

I took some photos and video, which I’ll post if they’re any good.

By the way, apparently 30,000 people showed up for the Reason Rally! That’s the largest gathering of non-believers ever.  The last largest gathering was in 2002 at the Godless Americans March, which attracted 2500 people, meaning the numbers at the 2012 Reason Rally were 12x larger than 10 years before.  By my count, that means Reason Rally 2022 should have 360,000 people, 2032 should have 4,320,000, 2042 will flood DC with 51,840,000, and by 2052, 622,080,000 Godless Americans will spill over the vast swathes of land within this great country.

By 2072, there will be 89 billion of us.

OK, maybe not :) But still, the point is, our numbers are growing very quickly!

Next up! National Day Of Reason on May 5 in Raleigh!

I didn’t take the below videos, but someone else was kind enough to:
